What's interesting to me is how the concept of "dissociation" is side-stepped in favor of "repression." Diagnosis of PTSD requires exposure to an event that involved or held the threat of death, violence or serious injury. They also say that about 10% of women develop PTSD compared with 5% of men. All of this places providers, who otherwise have no training on how to personally deal with emotional stress, at high risk for emotional unrest and exhaustion.
